Usage Monitoring – Service Subscription

This section introduces the calculation rule and how to view the data of service subscriptions on Developer Center.

Service Subscription Description

Service subscription messages include AMQP and OpenAPI calls from the business platform to the device platform, which is the resource belonging to an account.

The daily allowance for each account = the total number of messages generated by all devices under the account on that day. The daily allowance resets at 24:00 and does not carry over to the next day. If the number of consumed service subscriptions exceeds the upper limit, you need to purchase top-up packages for deduction.

Example: On May 1, 2024, an account has 1000 devices, and the service subscription allowance in the activation code package is 1500 messages/day/device. 500 of the devices generate messages, resulting in 20,000 messages on that day. Thus, the service subscription allowance for May 1, 2024, is 20,000 messages. At 24:00 on May 1, 2024, the allowance resets, and the service subscription allowance for May 2 is the total number of messages generated by all devices under the account on that day.

When the number of daily consumed service subscriptions under the account exceeds the allowance, the service subscription top-up package will be used first for deduction. If there is no service subscription top-up package, those service subscriptions consumed beyond the allowance will be considered excess usage, and service subscription top-up packages must be purchased for deduction.

Remaining Service Subscriptions in Top-up Packages

This section displays the remaining quantity of device service subscriptions in top-up packages purchased under the account.

Excess Service Subscriptions

① Billed Excess Service Subscriptions: The 1st of each month (the calendar month) is the billing date for the previous month's bill. The usage of service subscriptions that exceed the activation code package allowance for all applications under the account each day of the previous month is billed as the “Billed” excess service subscription quantity. If multiple months of billed excess usage are unsettled, the cumulative total of the billed excess usage quantity for those months will be displayed here.

Example: From June 1 to June 30, 2024, all applications under a developer’s account consumed 20,000 service subscriptions on June 1 (the number of excess service subscriptions on June 1 is 10,000). On June 2, all applications consumed 60,000 service subscriptions (the number of excess service subscriptions on June 2 is 20,000), and so on. The total number of service subscriptions exceeding the allowance for June is 100,000. Thus, on July 1, the billed excess service subscription quantity for June is 100,000.

② Unbilled Excess Service Subscriptions: The daily excess service subscriptions are calculated and displayed as the unbilled excess service subscription quantity until the billing date.

Total excess service subscriptions = Billed excess service subscriptions + Unbilled excess service subscriptions

Note: To ensure the normal operation of your business, you need to purchase top-up packages to deduct the excess service subscriptions timely. Billed excess service subscriptions must be settled by the 15th of the billing month. To prevent service suspension due to overdue payment for excess resource usage, you can set the alert notification recipient to promptly monitor and address resource usage issues. Resource Alert Settings

Developer Center pushes resource alert notifications to your account by default. If you need to add more notification recipients, please configure the alert recipient information. For convenience, your sub-accounts are granted permission to maintain this list of notification recipients. You can jointly maintain the resource alert recipient list. When adding recipients, please ensure their email addresses are correctly entered to receive resource alert notifications.
